Abstract The energy band structure with type-I alignment at the PbTe/CdTe(111) heterojunction interface is determined by the ultraviolet photoelectron spectrum using synchrotron radiation. The valence band and conduction band offsets are obtained to be 0.09±0.12 and 1.19±0.12 eV, respectively. These results are in agreement with theoretically predicted ones. The accurate determination of the valence band and conduction band offsets is useful for the fundamental understanding of the mid-infrared light emission from the PbTe/CdTe heterostructures and its application in devices.

Online attention
Altmetric calculates a score based on the online attention an article receives. Each coloured thread in the circle represents a different type of online attention. The number in the centre is the Altmetric score. Social media and mainstream news media are the main sources that calculate the score. Reference managers such as Mendeley are also tracked but do not contribute to the score. Older articles often score higher because they have had more time to get noticed. To account for this, Altmetric has included the context data for other articles of a similar age.
