Abstract  Frequency conversion of probe electromagnetic wave induced by relativistic ionization front is theoretically analysed based on ray-tracing equations in different regimes. Downshifting as well as upshifting in frequency produced by the front is predicted. The reflected and transmitted angles can be also dramatically changed in certain cases.
