Abstract The new tetracarbonyl–chromium-triphenyl phosphine complex was synthesized and characterized using ultraviolet (UV)-visible, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. The characterization results confirm the molecular structure of the new complex. The z-scan measurements were done by diode laser [continuous wave (CW)] to estimate the nonlinear optical parameter (χ3). The results led to calculate three parameters: the ground-state cross sections (σg), the excited-state cross sections (σex), and thermo-optic coefficient of the new complex. This study indicated that our complex is a suitable for photonic applications.

Online attention
Altmetric calculates a score based on the online attention an article receives. Each coloured thread in the circle represents a different type of online attention. The number in the centre is the Altmetric score. Social media and mainstream news media are the main sources that calculate the score. Reference managers such as Mendeley are also tracked but do not contribute to the score. Older articles often score higher because they have had more time to get noticed. To account for this, Altmetric has included the context data for other articles of a similar age.
