Abstract This paper investigates the phenomenon of stochastic resonance in a single-mode laser driven by quadratic pump noise and amplitude-modulated signal. A new linear approximation approach is advanced to calculate the signal-to-noise ratio. In the linear approximation only the drift term is linearized, the multiplicative noise term is unchangeable. It is found that there appears not only the standard form of stochastic resonance but also the broad sense of stochastic resonance, especially stochastic multiresonance appears in the curve of signal-to-noise ratio as a function of coupling strength $\lambda$ between the real and imaginary parts of the pump noise.

Altmetric calculates a score based on the online attention an article receives. Each coloured thread in the circle represents a different type of online attention. The number in the centre is the Altmetric score. Social media and mainstream news media are the main sources that calculate the score. Reference managers such as Mendeley are also tracked but do not contribute to the score. Older articles often score higher because they have had more time to get noticed. To account for this, Altmetric has included the context data for other articles of a similar age.
