Abstract This paper proposes an efficient scheme for deterministic generation of entangled coherent states for two atomic samples. In the scheme two collections of atoms are trapped in an optical cavity and driven by a classical field. Under certain conditions the two atomic samples evolve from an coherent state to an entangled coherent state. During the interaction the cavity mode is always in the vacuum state and the atoms have no probability of being populated in the excited state. Thus, the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission.

Altmetric calculates a score based on the online attention an article receives. Each coloured thread in the circle represents a different type of online attention. The number in the centre is the Altmetric score. Social media and mainstream news media are the main sources that calculate the score. Reference managers such as Mendeley are also tracked but do not contribute to the score. Older articles often score higher because they have had more time to get noticed. To account for this, Altmetric has included the context data for other articles of a similar age.
