Quantum oscillations and nontrivial topology in unfilled skutterudite IrSb3

Abstract
The unfilled skutterudite family has recently gained attention as a potential platform for hosting Dirac states. In this study, we systematically investigate the transport properties of IrSb3 single crystals. Magnetoresistance measurements exhibit prominent Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations and negative magnetoresistance at low temperatures. Quantum oscillation analysis extracts a nontrivial Berry phase and confirms a three-dimensional Fermi surface. Additionally, density functional theory calculations indicate the presence of nontrivial topological bands and surface states, suggesting that IrSb3 is a topological semimetal. These findings contribute to the growing family of topological materials and provide a platform for further exploration of quantum transport phenomena. -
