Set-up of experiment using trilayer spin-transport device. The trilayer sample, built of yttrium iron garnet (YIG), antiferromagnetic insulators (AFMIs), and platinum (Pt), is placed near the short termination of a short-end coplanar waveguide. Ferromagnetic resonance in YIG is excited by an applied microwave, while a temperature gradient is created in the perpendicular direction. As a result, the spin-pumping effect and spin Seebeck effect can be observed simultaneously.
