Calculated nucleation fields for a planar α-Fe-like soft defect sandwiched in Nd₂Fe₁₄B with perpendicular and parallel easy axes, which vary with the soft defect thickness d. In addition, the nucleation field for K d = 0 is shown for comparison, i.e., when the anisotropy in the soft defect is ignored completely.
