Cavities formed at depth H = 6R₀ during impacts of spheres onto 95 °C water for (a) T_s = 250 °C and V₀ = 1.2 m/s, (b) T_s = 300 °C and V₀ = 1.2 m/s, (c) T_s = 350 °C and V₀ = 1.2 m/s, (d) T_s = 350 °C and V₀ = 3.4 m/s, (e) T_s = 400 °C and V₀ = 5.6 m/s, and (f) T_s = 500 °C and V₀ = 5.6 m/s.
