The results were obtained from four different trial states, as indicated by the legends, and two different projection time factors a were in the PQMC simulations; a = 1 in panel (a) and a = 0.25 in panel (b). The largest system size pair is (L, 2L) = (64,128). The solid curves are fits to g* from ρs L crossings (red) and Q (blue) obtained from states projected out of the best trial state, |Ψ1⟩.
