(color online) Spin stiffness of the 2D Heisenberg model on the square lattice of linear size L = 16 as a function of inverse temperature β in SSE simulations or the projection time 2τ = β in PQMC simulations. The results were obtained using the standard winding number fluctuations according to Eq. (12) and the corresponding generalized spin current formula (14), in the SSE and PQMC simulations, respectively.
