Arrangement for the LVIS along the cold atom beam. The horizontal axis represents the laser frequency seen by an atom at rest in the center of the trap. The pushing beam and its retro-reflected beam are elliptical, and it can also be seen as the composition of σ+ and σ transition. Both of the cooling beams along the cold atomic beam can work with both of the Me = + 1 and Me = −1.
