Pressure-induced phase transition of B-type Y₂O₃

(color online) The volume per formula of B- and A-type phases of Y₂O₃ as a function of pressure. The solid lines correspond to the second-order B–M EoS fitting to the experimental data. The volume collapse in the phase transition is about 2% at 23.5 GPa. The crystal structures are also shown. Red spheres are oxygen and dark green spheres at the center of polyhedra are yttrium.
