(color online) Energy level scheme of 87Rb in the presence of a 790 nm circularly polarized laser beam and an MW field. Due to the Zeeman-like AC Stark shift induced by the properly detuned laser beam, the atoms experience a fictitious magnetic potential . Meanwhile the MW field causes an AC Zeeman shift , which has opposite sign depending on the hyperfine states.
