Intrinsic luminescence centers in γ- and θ-alumina nanoparticles

(color online) The schematic energy diagram for the ∼5.99 eV absorption band of emission at 2.48 eV. The F center absorbed a photon ( ) and would emit at 2.91 eV. Then center would absorb emitted photon (2.91 eV) to emit at 2.48 eV (since the energy of the emitted photon from the F center and the absorption energy of center were very close together).
