Elemental x-ray imaging using Zernike phase contrast

Performance improvement in terms of exposure. The variations of ratio of the required x-ray exposure (PND) in absorption contrast to that in phase contrast with the size of the nanoparticles. Energies for absorption are 1022.3 eV and 1012.4 eV, and energies for phase contrast are indicated in the upper right corner of the figure.
