Demonstration of a cold atom beam splitter on atom chip

Wire layout of the atom chip used in our experiment. (a) The atom chip consists of a U-wire (I_U, 200-μm wide) and a Z-wire (I_Z, 100-μm wide). The length of the central bar of the U-wire and Z-wire are 600 μm and 1900 μm, respectively. The distance between the two central bars is 10 μm.
