The spectral functions of k-points (in units of states/eV) along the directions of [101] for NiO (a) and [100] for TiO2 (b). The Fermi momentum is situated along overlapping spectral functions which explains the curving below and above the Fermi break in NiO. A pile up of spectra in lower momenta explains the constant momentum distribution as seen in Fig. 1. |
