In panel (c) the white and red rhombuses correspond to the positions of apparent UCs of α -4 × 4 and β -4 × 4 phases, respectively, which are shifted relatively. Note that in panels (a) and (c), the lateral position of Si atoms are fixed unchanged and only the buckling configuration has changed, resulting in the change of the position of apparent UCs (adapted from Ref.
