Experimental apparatus. A cubic cell is placed into the center of the magnetic shield and the compensation coils. A circularly polarized pump beam pumps the atoms along the z direction. A linearly polarized probe beam propagates along the x direction. The mirror mounted on the linear stage allows the probe beam to translate along the z direction.
