The most stable optimized surface structures for Au and Cl coadsorption on the stoichiometric CeO2 (111) (a), and its valence electron densities in the (110) plane (b). The electron-density contours start from 0.01 e /a.u.3 (a.u. is the abbreviation for atomic unit), and increase successively by a factor of 101/5.
