EXCHANGE EFFECTS AND COLLISION MECHANISMS IN (e, 2e) PROCESSES

Abstract In this work the triple differential cross sections for electron impact ionization of helium at an incident energy of 64.6 eV is considered in the coplanar symmetric energy-sharing and fixed relative angles of the two out-going electrons kinematics. A new collision process called triple-binary collision is identified. It has been shown that the ordinary double-binary collision process is excluded from the collision kinematics considered here. It has also been shown how the exchange effects symmetrically contribute to the peaks in the cross sections.

Online attention
