Abstract  By making use of the method of few-body physics, the energy spectra of low-lying states of a three-electron spherical dot have been calculated. The quantum-size effects on the energy spectra of three electrons are shown. The res ults show that the orders of energy levels do not change when quantum dot diamet ers change. As a result, the energies of the states of L=3(k=1,2,…) fulfilling $\pi$ (-1)L=1 are lower than those of their adjacent states.
