MOTION OF CESIUM ATOMS IN THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL MAGNETO-OPTICAL TRAP

Abstract  We calculated the force to which Cs atoms are subject in the one-dimensional magneto-optical trap (1D-MOT), and the properties of this force are also discussed. Several methods to increase the number of Cs atoms in the 1D-MOT are presented on the basis of the analysis of the capture and escape of Cs atoms in the 1D-MOT.
